Description of awareness programme

An Investor Awareness Programme at Yeddumailaram, Medak in Telangana State was conducted on May 17, 2015 which was attended by approximately 200 people including employees, pensioners, teachers and a few students. The programme was intended to make the investors and common people aware of the precautions to be taken before investing their hard earned money in various non-bank entities. The participants were apprised about the impending peril faced by innocent public due to various types of illegal / unauthorized financial activities carried out by unscrupulous individuals / entities and were advised to exercise caution and carry out background check regarding the company /entity soliciting deposits/ investments before investing their hard earned money with such dubious entities. The general public was also cautioned about the companies soliciting investment in plantation/ plots/ hotel room nights/ cows/goats etc. as they could be in the nature of Collective Investment Schemes which is regulated by SEBI and provisions A.P Protection of Depositors’ of Financial Establishment Act, 1999 and urged the public to visit RBI and SEBI websites for gathering more information.
