Awareness programs for the public

DNBS, Jaipur conducted an Investor Awareness Programme (IAP) on June 2, 2016 using the Satellite Communication Network (SATCOM). The programme was live telecast in Banswara, Baran, Bikaner, Chittorgarh, Churu, Dholpur, Hanumangarh, Jaisalmer, Karauli, Nagaur and Nathdwara (Rajasamnd) districts of Rajasthan connected with the satellite link (through two way communication) especially to the far flung districts of Rajasthan. Apart from DNBS, officers from FIDD also participated in this unique programme conducted for the second time. At the outset, Shri Arnab Roy, Regional Director for the state of Rajasthan welcomed all the viewers and emphasised on the need to conduct such programmes and precautions to be taken before investing their hard-earned money. Smt Kaya Tripathi, GM informed about NBFCs and NBFCs eligible to accept public deposits. Shri R.P.Singh, AGM, apprised the audience of the risks involved in depositing / investing of their money in ‘Get Rich Quick’ schemes. They were cautioned about lucrative offers on deposits and easy loans at very low rates of interest offered by fraudsters. They were made aware of Ponzi / multi-level marketing schemes. The participants were also cautioned about fake SMS’s and e-mails. They were shown cartoon film Mani Loses Money and advertisements designed by CO were displayed in the form of a PPT along with other Financial Literacy material. Shri HS Khitaulia, GM, FIDD and Shri RS Rawat, AGM FIDD apprised the participants about the various banking facilities like small loans, KCC, Banking Correspondents and usage of Credit Cards/ATMs. At the end queries raised by the viewers from Karauli, Bikaner and Nathdwara relating to fraudulent activities of real estate firm, cooperative society/bank were replied satisfactorily.
